Donations made by companies to sports clubs etc. can qualify for grassroots sport relief where they are made to a recognised sport. For this purpose, a recognised sport is one which is recognised by a sport national governing body.   A recognised sport governing body is a body which is included in a list maintained by the National Sports Councils, which are:
(a)     the United Kingdom Sports Council,
(b)     the English Sports Council,
(c)     the Scottish Sports Council,
(d)     the Sports Council for Wales; and
(e)     the Sports Council for Northern Ireland
