MORTGAGES & FINANCES

  • Mortgage holidays Oct 2020 - mortgage holiday's extended - only claim if you need it
  • Mortgage holiday - up to a 3-month mortgage payment holiday is available.
    • Consult your mortgage company; their T&C's will vary.
    • A permanent holiday will increase your interest due and extend the term of your mortgage.
    • A temporary holiday will have to be caught up and I will cost additional interest.
    • My advice - save it until you really need it.
    • Tracker mortgage should decrease.
    • Fixed rates will remain unchanged, unless your lender permits a concession.
  • Barclays have announced they will just extend your mortgage term by 3-months.

EMPLOYMENT LAW LEGAL HELPLINE

 COMMERCIAL INSURANCE

  • Businesses with commercial insurance should contact their insurance provider to see if there is any business interruption clause that may pay out.

  


 Universal Credit (U/C)

  • Self-employed people with no income can claim U/C.
  • If you have more than £16000 saving (Including ISA's but excluding any pension pots), you are not entitled to UC.
  • A self-employed person with a non-working partner and 2 children and renting in the social sector can receive up to £1800 per month for 3-months.
  • If your family unit varies from this, I defer you to the benefit system.
